Searching for that unique item

The other night I was out with my friend Divos who wanted to show me a new skin that he was interested in. The idea was that it was different from all of the others he had seen on the grid. This is so true. How many times have you come across or noticed that the skin or shape you have is also shared by others? Everyone wants to create their own style and not look like a cookie cutter replicate of another.

This also applies to dances. I remember when my friend JC noticed that I had also discovered some of cool dances at Akeyo. He was a little bummed out about it, but now I have them too and they are my favorite as well.

Last night I was IM chatting with my friend Brendan about the clothes and outfits we got from the recent MHOH 2. I showed him a picture of me in one and he said "I have that one too" In this case, I think the best thing to do is to pull apart the "outfits" and use them as separate pieces. It does mean more work to create and put the jeans and shirts in separate folders, but it should be well worth it. Besides, who wants to look like that poster in the shop anyway.

So go out and create your own individual SL Style and have fun.

Rocky's Birthday Party

Last night my friends came out to celebrate my birthday with a 1950s sock hop style. I had no idea this was going to be as huge an event as it turned out to be. Baz built a 50s style diner for it. Ritchie was our DJ for the night. He played songs with milkshake, and rockstar. That was pretty cool. After a break, I logged back on and headed over to Hunter's for FFF with the awesome DJ Syriana Paine. She ended her set and stayed a little longer and played some of my old time favorites from my very early days in SL. That brought back lots of great memories for me. Thanks sooooooo much. Weekend Recap

Friday, Ritch and I did our little dj gig at the pool at Jake's Club. We had a great turn out. We always enjoy playing tunes for all our friends that show up.

Saturday was regular theme party at Jake's. This week it was the awesome Star War's Party. The set was so cool. Everyone really got into it with costumes and lots of light sabers. Syri played tunes and kept the party going.

Sunday I was a little busy coming up with a GLAM outfit for Divos Titanium's birthday party later that evening. My friends, Tyler and Ritch did a fantastic job, putting things together. Ritch kept the party rockin as our dj for the night.

Monday was our weekly photo shoot for the club party poster. I started looking when I got home from work. I got an IM from Baz asking about my progress. Brady joined us and we were able to come up with something. We always come up with some great ideas when we get together.

Wow! Rocky has been a very busy boy.

Friday night I was weeding through my inventory -- Does it ever end? -- thinking that this is not that fun. So I gave up on the inv, tried on a few clothes and decided to look for something to do inworld. Hey, SL is a big place with all kinds of stuff to see and do right? I got a group message from Syri and decided to head to Galthies House of Slaves for some good music and dancing fun. Looks like lots of my friends were there, including Ritch, Divos, Tyler, and Zann. When I saw them, I realized that this was definitely THE place to be.

Rocky & Ritch Party Update

Ritch and I had a lot of fun DJ playing tunes on Sunday. We had so much fun that we took the party past our original plan to stop at 7pm SLT. Divos, Cole, Zann, Tyler, fireboy, Brady and Troy, were just a few of the many who joined us in the plaza at Jake's. Thanks to everyone we will be doing this again soon, maybe a pool party, so stay tuned.

Gone Fish'n

Earlier this week I got an IM from my best friend Brady. He invited me to go fishing with him. He said they have some really cool "customized" fish. I was curious as I usually am so how could I say no. I met up with Ritch and we both managed to find our way to where Brady was fishing. Divos Titanium also showed up. It was a lot of fun. I guess you can now say "Rocky is hooked"
